Henosia

Plan or Build

The quote “If I had an hour to solve a problem, I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions.” could easily have been written about Henosia. Your messages to Henosia can be one of two types: Plan or Build. Like with so many other things, Henosia’s chance of building something you’re happy with drastically increase if you spend a bit of time planning what you want to build, especially if it is something a bit bigger. And you don’t even have to do the planning alone, Henosia will happily help you.

For instance, your first prompt could be along the lines of:

I’d like to build a <system name>. I want it to be able to <features>. It should show <data> and it must never <security issue>. What are considerations or decisions I should be aware of or think about?

If Henosia suggests multiple solutions or choices and you’re unsure which one to go with, you could follow up with a prompt saying:

What are the most important pros and cons of <solution 1> and <solution2>?

The answer can then help inform your decisions. Once you have spit balled with Henosia about your product, you can round the planning phase off with:

Is there anything else you need from me to be able to start building?

If not, you can switch Henosia to Build mode, and it will execute on what you’ve just agreed upon.

Switching between plan and build makes sense on a product level, but can also be useful on a feature level, as well as when iterating.
